Perfect for lunch breaks, Chair Massage can be booked by the hour to share with your coworkers, or for parties or events. While seated massage most efficiently targets tension in the shoulders, upper back, and neck, I can also affectively work on arms, wrists, hands, and even feet while you sit comfortably. I also recommend seated massage if you cannot easily lie flat, due to mobility issues, pregnancy, or simply discomfort. Because a chair needs less working space than a table, this is also a great option for smaller spaces. I can even massage you in your own chair, though you might just find mine to be comfortable enough to fall asleep in!
Most common in the west, Swedish Massage is especially calming and soothing. Lotion or oil is applied directly to the skin using a variety of strokes ranging from mild to moderate pressure, covering both large areas of skin and specific points of tension. Most effective for full-body relaxation, this is a great way to unwind after a rough day, week, or month at work, and can even improve the quality of your sleep.
Combining the relaxation of a soothing Swedish massage, with the penetrating force of Myofascial and Deep Tissue techniques, a Firm Swedish satisfies most casual clients. Nothing too clinical, but nothing to fluffy either.
Commonly characterized by persistent dull ache, trigger points can adversely effect your posture, your range of motion, and your athletic performance. A trigger point is a hyperirritable spot within the belly of a muscle that often refers pain to another location, as mapped out by Janet Travell. First sessions require an additional intake on medical history, postural and ROM (Range Of Motion) assessments, and likely orthopedic testing depending on your particular issues. This type of massage is not for relaxation, and requires consistent communication between therapist and client. While it should not be excessively painful, this modality does dig deep, and over the course of regularly scheduled sessions, can help you release years of muscle tension perpetuated by repetitive motion and chronic stress.
